Our Projects

Growing food, growing businesses, growing leaders

_Real impact on real lives_

From community farms in Mpumalanga to digital literacy hubs in township schools, the Dr Sam Motsuenyane Foundation works hand‑in‑hand with local partners to transform ideas into impact. Since our inception, we’ve rolled out initiatives in sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurship support, youth leadership development, and scholarship mentorship, each one reflecting Dr Motsuenyane’s conviction that opportunity grows from practical skills, resource access, and bold collaboration. Explore below how our on‑the‑ground projects are equipping South Africans with the tools, training, and networks they need to build self‑reliant futures.

Gog Lilly Peanut Butter: Cultivating Youth‑Led Enterprises

The Gog Lilly Peanut Butter Enterprise transforms raw agricultural skills into a branded, value‑added product. Working alongside Tshwane South TVET College, five young entrepreneurs have learned every step, from quality testing raw peanuts to precision roasting, artisanal grinding and packaging, so that “Gog Lilly” now supplies local markets with a premium, youth‑driven peanut butter.

Dennilton Citrus Project

The Dennilton Agricultural Project rebuilds livelihoods after a devastating arson attack. By repairing boreholes, restoring broiler houses, and replanting citrus orchards, with governance training from the University of Pretoria, local farmers are once again harvesting fruit and managing their cooperative with renewed confidence.

 Jonathan Agriculture Cooperative

On 260 hectares in North West Province, the Jonathan Agriculture Cooperative has planted 140 ha of sunflowers. Despite early setbacks from bird predation and high mechanisation costs, the cooperative is now positioned to scale, having submitted a R5 million LOTTO grant application to secure inputs, pest control, and harvesting operations.

Little Angels & Motshegofadiwa School Food Gardens

Our school food‑garden programme equips learners with practical skills in sustainable vegetable production. Little Angels (Mpumalanga) and Motshegofadiwa (Limpopo) students learn soil preparation, seed planting, and crop rotation, and sell their first harvests back to their communities.

Shinkyokushin Karate Governance Support

Our governance‑strengthening initiative with Shinkyokushin Karate South Africa helps sport bodies run transparently. We deliver workshops on leadership, financial oversight, and ethical conduct, ensuring young athletes benefit from well‑managed associations.

Refilwe Home for the Disabled

At Refilwe Home, a R200 000 grant refurbished living quarters, established a food garden, and provided social‑development services—improving quality of life for residents with disabilities.

Backpack Donation Drive

We distributed 2 500 school backpacks, filled with stationery and uniforms, to learners across Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and North West, easing the cost burden on families and supporting school attendance.

Scholarship Grant Fund

Our annual R120 000 scholarship fund supports students in IT, agriculture, finance, and technical trades, covering tuition, materials, and mentorship to build the next generation of industry leaders.
