ABCD Training

ABCD APPROACH Dr. Sam Motsuenyane Foundation had projects that were vandalized and looted after being handed over to the communities, those projects were founded for the communities. Foundation realized that the community had no buy-in to these projects. That is when the Foundation introduced the Asset-Based Community Development approach other than the Need-Based Community Approach. The ABCD approach prepares communities for successful project implementation. The rationale for the project.

  • Reduce the high failure rate of development initiatives.
  • Shift the mindset of communities from being consumers to producers.
  • Appreciate and identify community assets and unlock their potential.
  • Provide local solutions.
  • To partner effectively with external partners.

This approach will assist the Foundation to reduce the high failure rate of projects we participate in/support as this will have a negative impact on the Foundation and project.
